You may be able to delete the other partition using the
Computer Management tool in Administrative Tools in the
control panel, and then extend your XP system partition
into that unallocated space.

There are two ways of looking at your problem! Increase the size of the
partition or move things elsewhere!

Details for Partition Magic are viewable here:
http://www.symantec.com/partitionmagic/

Another partitioning tool is Bootit NG, www.bootitng.com -- 30-days fully
functional shareware. I do not have any experience of using Bootit NG.

To move programmes you need to uninstall and reinstall through Start,
Settings, Control Panel, Add / Remove Programs. To move Temporary Internet
Files -Start, Control Panel, General tab, Temporary Internet Files,
Settings, Move Folder. To relocate Outlook Express store select Tools,
Options, Maintenance, Store Folder, Change.

If your My Documents folder is in your D partition then create a My Files
folder in another partition and copy ( not move ) the contents of My
Documents to your new folder. Then delete the files in your My Documents
folder ( if you encounter problems deleting use Shift + Delete to bypass the
Recycle Bin ).

Where is your pagefile.sys located?

System Restore occupies a lot of space. Is it set to the maximum of 12%?
Right click on My Computer, select Properties, System Restore, D drive and
settings. Reduce to 8% will win something. Also note the More Options button
in Disk CleanUp.

In the longer term the partition is the better option. You will need an
extra 1 gb plus your present shortfall when you install the SP2 update.

Hope this helps.
