When I upload files to an FTP server with the FTP.EXE utility that
comes with Windows XP the files are put on the server incomplete.

When I do the upload with TotalCommader, this application completely
freezes.

The FTP servers that I am dealing with are WU-2.6 in Unix and ServU-32
in XP.

The uploads work fine in Windows-98.

Is it a known issue?

I'm having the same problem using several different ftp clients (WS FTP & CUTE FTP) accessing several different ftp servers. Any file over a couple of mega bytes gets truncated

It's not a known issue. Have you scanned for viruses and/or trojans?
