I have about 40 machines running Windows 98 or 98 SE. It
doesn't seem to matter which version. All machines also
have Office 2000 Small Business Edition with or without SR-
1. Some even have SP3 for Office 2000. When I install
IE6 SP1 and the latest patches, none of these machines can
print from IE. Any attempts to print bring up a box that
says at line 227 or 228 (it depends on whether script
debugging is turned on as to which line is referenced)
there is an error. The error reads "Incompatible version
of the RPC stub."
The versions of Win98 and Office2K seem to have no
effect. I have even duplicated this by reformatting a
hard drive, reloading the OS and all software, and still I
cannot print. Any ideas? The MS Knowledge Base hints
that some .dlls need to be re-registered or Office needs
to be re-installed or the usual standard answer of having
the latest SR or SP. Well, even with all that, it still
doesn't work.
