I'm on sp2 XP home edition with Mafee firewall and Outlook express 6.0. I
can correct my incoming mail server to my IP providers name but every time I
reboot it changes to a local host IP address. I have deleted the outlook
profile and added it back with the same results. I read about editing the
registry entries to delete the POP3Trap but could not find it under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run to detele it.

Disable Email scanning in your AV program

I have just found a site that says McAfee Virus scan 8.x has a bug affecting
incoming mail on all e-mail clients even when disabled. Unfortunately the
McAfee support website is currently down so I cannot confirm this. Not sure
of the date of the posting but it said there is no workaround at this time.

Anyone know if there is now a fix for this?
