incoming (forwarded) mail being truncated

I just converted to Outlook (running Office XP, Outlook 2002?). and have been
forwarding messages from my old e-mail account(s) to the ones I have set up
in Outlook.

Unfortunately, far too many messages are being truncated. What do I need to
do to fix this?

What do you mean by truncated? Text is missing or graphics are missing?

Text is missing; links show up as text, and possibly graphics are missing.

It appears that I'm running into a character limitation or some other kind
of boundary issue.

text (for sure) is missing, links come across as text and may be incomplete.

It seems like I'm running into a character limit somewhere/somehow.

In what mail system are your existing messages? Perhaps there's a way to
transfer them without forwarding them.

They were on AT&T Worldnet, but I have nothing there now.

Most of my e-mails are sitting over on Gmail now, forwarded from a variety
of old e-mail systems (AT&T, AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.). I can leave most of
them over on Gmail -- but I don't want to run into this problem if I forward
something to myself from my Gmail account, or if I receive forwarded messages
from friends.

I am having the same problem myself only this isn't being caused by
forwarding from one account to another. I am having this problem for one
particular staff member at my organisation.

It appears that messages that he receives from a variety of sources are
truncated at around the 250 to 255 character limit.

The thing that is puzzling is that it is only certain messages and not all.
Two messages from the same person arrive, the first is truncated and the
second is not
