Incoming connections

Help! I can not get my computer to answer the incoming
call. I have set everything up as per the 'book' and yet
it does not answer. What am I doing wrong, can anybody
help?
 
Try updating your modem driver. When Windows doesn't answer the
phone, it typically is driver / hardware related (mainly driver).

I don't know which 'book' you are referring to, but have
you set up a network device for the modem? Do that
through:
start>Settings>Network Connections>Create a new
connection
