Include Page problem: 2003

Hi,

I just started using FP 2003 (OS=Win XP Pro) and I'm having a lot of
little problems.

One that's really driving me nuts is that every time I insert an
include page into a page and save it, the included file changes from a
separate component to become code in the page on which it's been
included. So now if I update the include page, the main page does not
update along with it. This is causing me tons of extra work!

There must be an option I have checked that's causing this to happen.

Can someone please help me figure this out? Thanks!
 
That is normal.
You will find that if you update the include page
and save it, and then view a page that contains
the include that page will have been automatically
updated.
"Included" content that is updated
is added to a page the instant
the updated include is saved.

This is normal.

This is abnormal. Normally, whenever you save a page,
FrontPage locates all pages that include the page you're
saving, and then updates all those pages. It also fixes
hyperlinks, image URLs, and other locations so they still
work.

If this isn't happening for you, then you probably aren't
opening your Web site as a FrontPage Web. Always use the
Open Web (or in FP2003, Open Site) command first, and
only then open individual files within that site.
