Make sure your Current View is set for "View All Messages" instead of "Hide Read Messages".

It is always set on 'Show all messages'. Now it shows all messages received
since the loss of all messages earlier this afternoon. How to recover these?

Who is the mail provider for those missing messages?
Are those messages accessible via webmail?

can indeed access to the 'old' mail via webmail. This means that there is a
problem with Windows Mail.

Is your Windows Mail configured to always leave a copy of messages
on the server? Or are downloaded messages removed from your webmail?

If the former, Windows Mail is not downloading those messages because
it already downloaded them once. All I can suggest is to look through all
the folders in Windows Mail, including Deleted Items and Junk E-mail,
and make sure each folder has that "Show All Messages" setting.

I have successfully used Windows Mail for about a year. Tonight I opened
Windows Mail and saw "Inbox (2380)." However, I cannot see or access any of
these 2380 messages -- not those in my inbox or sub folders, not in my sent,
deleted, drafts, or Junk.
Windows Mail has thrown up a couple of error messages and asked permission
to report to Microsoft - I agreed each time.
After talking with Comcast, I went into my Windows Mail client and changed
the setting to leave a copy of all emails on the server (Tools -
Accounts-mail.comcast.net-Properties-Advanced, then placed a check next to
Leave a copy of messages on the server). Then comcast support sent me a
message. I say it and read it on their web site using my browser. When I
opened Windows Mail, the number of messages in my Inbox increased by 1, from
2380 to 2381. But I am still unable to view any of these emails messages.

I'd appreciate anything you can do to help me view my emails.

Thanks.

Try running the various repair functions in the WMUtil program:

If no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

To avoid confusion, please begin a new thread about your specific problems.
State your IE version and full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP2)
