Inbox, Outbox, Sent

When I first installed Office Outlook 2007 there was a box showing Inbox,
Outbox, and Sent under the Folder List (I think it was called Favourite
Folders) on the left-hand side of the screen. My beloved, who is not very
"technical" appears to have lost this useful box and I can't for the life of
me get it back. All my attempts have failed. I tried Help but the things
they asked me to click on simply weren't there. Could anybody please help?

View - Navigation Pane - Normal.
 
I'd love to do that but the only options under View > Navigation Pane are :

Normal
Minimized
Off
..........................
Current View Pane.

There's no "Favorite Folders" there - if there was I could have solved this!

Sounds like you're in Folder view and not Mail view. On the Go menu, click
Mail.
