Inbox messed up

I am using Outlook 2003. Suddenly my inbox does not show the unread mail. I can find it with search folders or Advanced find. Also one main folder does not show the mail I moved to it using 'move to folder'. It shows only one HTML mail from the past and none of the others I know were there. How do I get it back to the default of show by date, from, etc? I have no rules about the needed folder such as forward mail etc.

Reset and apply the Messages view to the folder if you know the messages
should be there;
View_ >Arrange By-> Current View-> Define Views...

Tips of the month:
-Backup and Restore
-Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3

Thanks. I did that. It didn't seem to help at the time. Once I turned machine off and rebooted that problem went away. Now I am getting the message: There is an unknown problem with the database in Business Contact Manager. Notify Support

Check your database for errors or restore it from back-up. You might want to
ask in the outlook.bcm newsgroup for more assistance on this.
