I've been trying to use Outlook 97 for my internet e-mail
and wanted to set up the Inbox assistant. I found out it
will only work if you have the Microsoft Exchange Server
service set up in your profile.

I can find intructions on how to add the service but it
asks for my server address which I don't even know if I
have. Can someone tell me what this service is and how
to get it set up? Is it possible to use the Inbox
assistant with an e-mail account from a typical ISP?

Any help will be appreciated.

If this is for Email at your home via a POP account, then you don't have
Exchange and will not be able to install the Inbox Assistant, since it works
only with Exchange. Use Rules to emulate it.

I appreciate the info but how do I use rules. Help
topics dicuss having permission to "public folders" but I
seem to be in the same place where i need to use the
Micosoft Exchange Server. I click on propeties of a
given folder and go ther Administration tab but the
section for "folder options" (I think that's what it's
called) is not available to me (greyed out). Again any
further insight will be greatly appreciated.
