I need to know what is displayed on the command line by the commands "set"
and "ver", under Win Vista, for programming some batches :
Could someone has an access to a Win Vista (Beta 1, or WinHEC 2004) System,
and do the simple following :
- open a DOS Box.
- type : set > set.txt
- type : ver > ver.txt
- type : notepad set.txt
- return to the DOS Box
- type : notepad ver.txt
- close the DOS Box
- copy all the texts in the both notepad windows
- paste the 2 texts in this group, as a reply to my post.
- close all windows.
Thanks a lot.

Contact Microsoft for Vista problems. They are located in Redmond,
Washington State. USA.

I have the regret to tell that despite my repeated requests to
(e-mail address removed) to be enrolled into the beta testing program of Win
Vista, they never gave me any access to any build (WInHEC 2004, or Beta 1),
to download or to receive on DVD-ROM.
So I dont know what to do...
Because I am programming some little stuff, and I want it to be future
proof, so I need to know how my stuff will behave on a Vista system.
How to do this if i dont have any Vista with me to install ?
Could you help me to get a Vista build, from Microsoft, or elsewhere ?
Otherwise I have to repeat my questions here :
what are the results on the command line of the commands "set" and "ver",
under a Win Vista DOS Box ?
If you can get these results, just post them on this group as a reply to my
post, at that will be all the help that I need (no hassle to wait for a Vista
distro from Microsoft !).
Thanks.

Public beta testing of Vista will roll out soon. Be patient. In the
meantime, research what a Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA) is.

That's because you are using email to contact them, which 250,000+ other
people are doing at the same time. What would you do with 250,000
emails/week?
