[...] in subject line

Bill Brehm

Using Outlook 2003. Many emails that come in have [...] prepended to the
subject line. All of them are spam. But spams that are put into the junk
mail folder do not have it.

Is Outlook adding this [...]? How does it decide between doing this and
moving the email to the junk folder? Or is [...] something being used to
fool Outlook into not considering the email junk?
 
a junk mail filter is probably adding it - are you using norton anti spam or
another program?

mcafee, but i don't have the spam killer on. could it be my isp?

it could be, but I would double check in spam killer to see if they use
[...] as the tag - most use [spam] - so it might be enabled.
