I'm having a problem with IE6 and if my reinstall of IE6 SP1 does not
resolve the problem, I may have to reinstall XP pro over my current install.
My question is: Can I reinstall XP without destroying my current user
accounts?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315341 didn't address user accounts
Thanks,
Tom

BTW - my problem is that IE not rendering any web pages. any site comes up
totally blank and cannot get any dialogs to load (e.g., Help About or
Internet Options). I unistalled SP2 and the problem got a little better -
now only page background color is loading and I can open dialogs. My
Internet connection is good (can ping and use IM)

Tom,

yes, the repair installation keeps the user accounts and the
installed software and the user settings.

I would recommend to do this:

1. Do a backup. There's always a risk.

2. Do the repair installation.

3. Install Service Pack 2.

For particular SP2 problems and for proper preparation have a
look at http://www.michna.com/kb/WxSP2.htm.
