Improving look of graphics

A few weeks ago, I modified some things on my system, including lowering the quality of the Web-provided artwork. Now all that looks bad. I can right-click on art and have an option of improving the quality of that piece or all on the page. But I forgot what I did to modify in the first place, and I'd like to get back to higher quality pictures. Do you have a suggestion? Thanks.
 
Right click on the desktop, click on properties, settings, increase color
quality.
( 24, or 32 bit)
