A "software expert" reinstalled a trial version of XP on my secondary pc in
hopes of fixing issues with my properly purchased version. He has since not
been able to produce a valid product key code so Ican activate XP after it's
trial period. I can no longer get a full start-up, rendering my pc
completely useless. What can I do?

Expert - You're joking right. Any competent PC person would use a
standard disk for repair work - not a Trial version. Whatever your
reason for using/allowing this idiot to work on your PC, you've got a
mess. If you are unable to repair this miss-adventure yourself, hire a
local, reputable PC technician or shop to do the work for you.

Take the computer back with your WinXP and your Product Key and have him
install that.

If yours is just a Restore CD make sure he backs up everything important
first.

Install your "properly" purchased version using the valid install key
supplied with it.

A repair install with your properly purchased copy of Windows:
