Keith,

As long as the HAL is the same it should work fine. (Meaning you cna't go
from Standard PC, to ACPI UniProcessor PC)

I have an image that works fine on a panel PC - its completely setup
and some units have already been shipped with this image.

However the panel PC supplier has now started to fit a slightly
different SBC in the new units being delivered. My old image has now
stopped working on units fitted with the new SBC.
I beleive the new SBC has a different chip set than the old board.

I have managed to install XP-Pro on one of the new units - and have
succesfully generated a "devices.pmq" file, using TAP.exe.

Is it possible to import this "devices.pmq" file into my old image,
and will this include the new components need for the new chipset.

Thanks

Keith

It is possible and if the only changes are minor, it will work. However, it
is possible that your new PMQ may have components which conflict with your
old PMQ. For example (and it's a stretch), your 2 different PMQs could
imply different HAL.DLLs.

In general, I always try to organize my XPE builds into SLDs which are
easily snapped together to form a SLX with minor setting changes done
afterwards. I have a SLD for my hardware, SLDs for apps, etc...
