Imposter newsgroup post

I have just witnessed someone posing as me and posing as another person, by
hijacking our newsgroup "handles" in a newsgroup thread. How can I report
this and combat it? I've used my handle for a very long time and would
rather not invent another one.

The newsgroup where this occured is microsoft.public.windowsxp.basics, and
the subject is "Microsoft Word" dated 10/7/2003.

I don't think there is anything you can do since you do not have any
exclusive legal rights to your handle.

Whenever I have seen that, the person posts through the CDO and the
original posts through a newsreader thus making it obvious to detect
the fraud.

Thanks, Jupiter. That was the case here too. I use OE as my newsgroup
newsreader, and the imposter was using CDO. Hopefully this fraud will not
continue.
