I have followed the instructions to import my personal
folders from a newer computer (laptop xp) to an older one
(desktop 98). I keep getting an error that
states "Properties for this service must be defined prior
to use" then "File access is denied. You do not have the
permission required to access the file D:\backup.pst"
Please help
Jon

1) Copy the PST from the CD to your HD.
2) Right-click, choose Properties, and uncheck the Read-Only box. Click OK.
3) Start Outlook and open the file with File>Open>Personal Folders File (or
Outlook Data File)

Do NOT import a PST if you can avoid it.
