Please help, I have my addresses and phone numbers in a works database
it is a wbd file and when I try to import them in 'import external data' I
get the message
' 'Microsoft Excel can't open as the file has either been damaged or the
file format is not valid.'

Can someone help me? I've never used Excel or Word before, only Works!

Open your wdb files, save as...CSV or xls. Either of those
file formats is Excel compatible.

I have faced this problem for years. Seems strange that MS would not allow
Works BD's to be exported into Excel or Access easily. I maintain a works db
for the address book only.
If you find an easy way other than comma/separated values, which is a mess,
please post.

Open the database in Works and save it again by clicking Save As. Give it a
name
and in the Save As Type box choose a .xls file extension. Excel should be
able
to open this file without a problem.
