Hi,

I recently added a new drive to my computer and made it
the primary (C:). The old primary is now the E: drive.
I reinstalled XP and Office and than realized I had
forgotten to export my messages and addresses from the
old system.

Everything, including office and XP, are on the old (E:)
drive. Is there a way to access the old messages and
import them into my new Outlook?

A thousand thanks!

Dan Denny

Just open the old .PST file in Outlook (using File | Open), and then tell
Outlook to use it as the default .PST. I can give you more detailed
instructions on how to make it the default if you provide your Outlook
version.

Thanks for the help Jocelyn! I'm using Outlook 2002.
Can you tell me what directory the .pst file would be
located in?

Thanks again!

Thanks Jocelyn! I'm using Outlook 2002. I am unable to
find any .pst files, is there somewhere specific I should
look?

Thanks much!

By default it would be in E:\Documents and
Settings\{yourusername}\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook but it might
instead be in E:\Documents and Settings\{yourusername}\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Brian.Tillman is the name, smiths-aerospace.com is the domain.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

If you're using Windows 2000 or XP, they may be in hidden or system folders,
so make sure you include those in your search (there are checkboxes for this
if you're using the Search function on the Start menu -- look in the
Advanced section).
