Importing a File into VS.Net using VB

We are working on an "Upload" program, and need to get information on how to import data using VS.Net in VB. We will be importing the data in an excel or text format, possibly in XML; but it could be any one of the three formats. Most likely it will be text files. Is there somewhere I can get information on how to do this in VB.Net? Thanks in advance,
