Import Word Calendar to Outlook

I have prepared a calendar in word using the 2008 calendar template. Can
this be imported/exported to an Outlook calendar?

the answer is most probably: no.

(That part of) Outlook is for managing appointments. Word is for
printing stuff. What exactly are you expecting to happen by exporting a
calendar template to Outlook?

I didn't think it was possible, but was hoping for the best. My attempt was
to take appointments created in the word calendar and import them to the
outlook calendar. Oh well.

the answer is most probably: no.

if the information is structured enough (as it might be in a table setup
in Word), there might be a way to bring it over to Outlook. But you'd
need a sound understanding of both Word and Outlook (programming-wise).
For the Word part, try one of the vba newsgroups.

Of course, that's really only worse it if you have a whole lot of
information stored in Word that way, and/or if it's a recurring task.
