Is it possible to get Access to autopopulate the weight field through a
USB
connection?

Probably, but you'll need something to read the output from the device. I
have used barcode readers which fill a textbox. I have also used digital
measuring devices which fill textboxes. Anything which claims to fill and
Excel spreadsheet cell, will often work on an Access textbox.

With most scales that have a USB connection, the scale appears as if
it were actually connected to a RS232 serial port. (the driver for the
USB scale creates a "virtual COM port" when you connect the scale to
your PC's USB port. You could then use a product like WinWedge from
TAL Technologies to open the RS232 port and read in the scale data and
pass the data directly to your Access database.
For more information about WinWedge visit:

If you have questions, call TAL Technologies directly and they will
help you get everything working the way that you need.

You can make this kind of job with the software BillRedirect:
