After furious head scratching, import different pst versions asked:

If in OL2003 unicode format it can only be read/opened in OL2003.
You need to create a new pst, in OL2003, in non unicode / old format,
export/copy to that. You can then open the pst in prev.versions of OL.
No I dont believe there are any tools.

No.
This is one of many reasons why exporting is never the correct way to
transfer Outlook data.
You should have created a new PST file in the old format and copied data
into it if you wanted it to be accessible to earlier versions.
Apparently, Microsoft expected its users to be clairvoyant on this
requirement. It makes no sense not to provide users with the option to
select the correct file format when they export data. But they didn't, and
you're another victim of their oversight.

Hi, I have noticed that you have sais that exporting is not a good way to
transfer outlook data, could you help me understand how to do this?

As I become a heavier user of the progrma, it is more appealing to me to
understand the actual details of using it.

Thanks

"Import and Export" function in Outlook changes the modified date of
messages (mainly in the Sent Items folder I believe) to the date on
which the Import/Export is done.
