I'm using Windows XP, Pagemaker 7.0 and PowerPoint97. I created a graphic
using Pagemaker drawing tools and then grouped it into a single graphic. I
copied the graphic in Pagemaker but but cannot paste the grouped graphic from
Pagemaker to PowerPoint. How can I transfer the graphic to a PowerPoint
slide from Pagemaker?

Thanks for replies.

PowerPoint understands a lot of graphic types. Is there any option to save
it to a more standard graphic type (like PNG, BMP, JPG)?

Hi,

If you have Photo Editor (or another image editor), you can paste it there
and save it as a jpg or gif to insert in PowerPoint. Click Programs,
Microsoft Office Tools, Photo Editor.

IIRC, Pagemaker allows you to export/save as an EPS. You'd need to do that
and then open the EPS in an image editor to convert it to PNG (or JPG or
whatever -- something that PPT understands, anyway).

Not sure about Pagemaker 7.0, but if you have an option there to export as
PDF, that might give you another way around it...

You might have to resort to screen capture. PageMaker doesn't put anything on
the clipboard that PowerPoint can work with.

If you have Illustrator or Photoshop, they might be able to paste what PM's put
on the clipboard and save as a more PPT-friendly file format.

Or if you have Illustrator or CorelDraw, you could print to a PS file or make a
PDF, then open that in Illo/Draw and save as WMF or the like for insert into
PPT.

Doesn't seem to work here. Pagemaker apparently puts its own private data type on
the clipboard and nothing else. Rather ill-behaved of it.
