Importing pst file from hard drive after copying file over
from cd and unchecking read only attribute.

One posted message said when exporting form 2003 you have
to tell it to export for Outlook version 2000. Didn't see
where that was an option - is there anymore information on
this?

Also mention of unicode by someone else was unfamiliar. I
didn't see anything about unicode in the export process.
Can you please explain what it is or give me additional
advise/instruction. Thanks, Tlm

When trying to copy contacts and emails from new version
on one machine to older version on a different machine I
get the following two error messages. Is what I want to
do not allowed and is there a solution. Thanks, Tlm

Properties for this information service must be defined
first.

The file xxx.pst is not a personal folders file.

You need to do this in Outlook 2003.

Create a new .pst file (File->New->Outlook Data File). When it asks, select
a 97-2002 compatible file. Export your entire .pst file to this format and
name it 2000format.pst or something distinctive.

You can then use this file in the previous version of Outlook. Unicode
format is the new file format that will allow for several 10s of terabytes
of information in your .pst file rather than the 2 gig absolute limit in the
previous (ansi) file version.
