When trying to copy contacts and emails from new version
on one machine to older version on a different machine I

do not allowed and is there a solution. Thanks, Tlm

The file xxx.pst is not a personal folders file.

the 2003 pst format is not dierctly backwards compatible. I think what you
have to do, is in outlook 2003, export your pst to 2000/2002 format.
Then you should be able to open it in the prior version.

Are you copying the .pst file from a CD? Try copying the .pst file to the
hard drive and remove the read-only tick mark. Also, ensure that you are
not using the new unicode format for the 2003 .pst file.

.
Trying to import from hard drive after copying file over
from cd and unchecking read only attribute.

One posted message said when exporting form 2003 you have
to tell it to export for Outlook version 2000.

Also mention of unicode is unfamiliar. I didn't see
anything about that in the export process. Can you please
explain what it is. Thanks, Tlm
