Import Mozilla Bookmarks

I'm trying to import my bookmarks from Mozilla 1.4 to my IE6 favorites.
When I do, the folder structure appears to be ok, but the bookmarks are all
messed up. Many of the folders that have lots of entries under Moz have
only 1 under IE, and it is a duplicate of other folders. I've tried
directly importing from Moz, and even exporting from Moz to an HTML file,
then the IE import. Both methods give the same result.

Does anyone know how to make this work?

Also, in another thread in this NG, I see a recommendation to create a
favorite that points to the bookmark.htm file. I've played with this, but
can't figure out how to have a favorite point to a file.

Thanks,
John Schneider

Siljaline,

Sorry, but I don't understand the reference. I went to that newsgroup and
there were only two messages, and neither of them had anything to do with
this issue. How does a news-server relate to bookmarks?

John,

My apologies in directing you to an NG that had no content.
My intention was to refer you to an NG that perhaps contained Mozilla
related issues.

Hopefully this article will help.

Siljaline,

Thanks for the reply, but that kb article (like the others I've seen in the
kb) simply says to use the import wizard, and that is the problem. It just
does not work properly.

I have checked some of the Mozilla newsgroups, but given that this is an IE
issue, they are not much help either.

Hi John,

http://www.mozilla.org/start/1.4/faq/profile.html

<snip>
Bookmarks
Save the bookmarks.html file.
</snip>

That about ends my Moz expertise, John, which is limited.
That is all I can help you with at this time.

Regards,
