Hi,

I need to export all my contacts and emails, etc, from Outlook 2003 becaue I
am moving everything to a different computer.

Whenever I've done this in the past - or backed up - I've used the
import/export option in the file menu. However, it's not appearing in the
menu any more!

Any ideas? Could I have disabled it accidentally?

Any help much appreciated

What view of Outlook are you in when you can't see File, Import/Export? I was
in Mail, it was there, but not in Contacts.

Anyway, probably the easiest thing to do is to copy your Outlook datafile
(all emails, calendar, task, journal and note items) and import that...The
Outlook datafile can be located by going File, Data File Management from the
Mail view.

Hope this helps!

Outlook seems to have inadvertently saved you from making another mistake. I
cannot think of a worse way to back up data than to use export. Just create
a copy of your Outlook Data File to back up your data.
As to the reason you've lost the option to export, only you can tell us
that. What did you do to lose it? It does not simply disappear for no
reason.

Never import a PST. It's unnecessary and will lose data.

Do you have friendly menus enabled? Is there a little double arrow at the
bottom of the menu? If so, click it or hover your mouse over it to expand
the menu to its fullest.
