IMAPI Cd burning service for XP

I am having trouble burning data to a cd using windows CD writing wizard. I
found an article to trouble shoot the issue and it referred to the IMAPI CD
burning service and to make sure it was running and to possibly change a
setting to Automatic from Manual. It worked fine for one night. Now
however whether the service is set to Automatic or Manual it will not start
up. If I go through Control Panel and start the service I still can't use
the CD writing wizard. Any help that anyone can provide?
