IMAP mail with Outlook 2002

I am having three separate difficulties with using IMAP
mail with Outlook 2002, sp-2

I have three *.pst data files; One for archiving, one for
the IMAP and one as a local account. The problem is
between the local PST data file (personal folder) and the
IMAP PST data file. Maybe I should somehow have the inbox
in my personal folder be a IMAP, but I don't think that
is possible

Here are the three problems:

1.>
Sent Items do not go into the IMAP "sent items" folder,
they go into the local outlook data file folder's "sent
items"

I can not find a setting to change this.

2.>
Deleted items don't go into any folder and I can not
figure out how to delete them using outlook or any other
method.

3>
For some reason the inbox gets populated incorrectly with
dates and times of when a message was sent. When you
highlight one, it corrects it, but highlighting a number
of them doesn't work. So I need it to refresh the view.
Any clue how?

I need someone whom is an expert in using IMAP accounts
in Outlook to help me figure out how to properly
configure my mail client. Thanks.

Sincerely, Michael

Check here for some good info concerning issues 1 & 2:

As far as your third issue goes, I'm not sure. Can we get some more info?
What exactly is incorrect about the received date? Is it off by a consistent
amount of time (i.e. everything is an hour ahead or something)?

I have the same issues w/2003 and IMAP and I haven't found a solution to the sent items problem nor the way deleted items are handled.

When you want to "really" delete the items you have deleted, i.e. the crossed out items, go to edit > purge deleted items and they are gone. I added a button to my toolbar for quicker access.

The date and time are all the new date and time I logged
into the server at that time...

If you're downloading the item, I believe the Recieved field will reflect
that time. If you right click the column heading bar (the gray bar along the
top of the message list where From, Subject, and the other filed names
appear) and select Field Chooser; you can drag the Sent field onto that gray
bar. This will add it to the view. Does the sent field reflect the correct
sent time as opposed to the Received field?
