Images stay on screen

Hi,hope someone can help.When i open up programs or anything for that matter,they stay on my screen even after i have closed them out.Anyone out there know how to fix this please.Only way i can get rid of these images is to shut down and restart.Once i send this message it will still be on my screen,even though its been closed out.Thanks in advance.

It might be worth testing an updated driver from the video card or chip
manufacturer's WEBsite. ROLL BACK to the original driver if results are
unsatisfactory.

If you are unfamiliar with this process, consider enlisting the help of
someone who is.
