Images on Web Pages do not load

I'm having a problem with images on web pages not loading. Not all web
pages are affected by this problem. The page that I first noticed this on
is www.expedia.com. When I click on Hotels at the top very few if any of
the images will load. I get a whole bunch of boxes with the dreaded red X
in them. I try and right click on the image place holder and click Show
Picture, but that doesn't work. I've also noticed that banners won't load
up either. Not like that bothers me as much, but I'd like to know if that
as well is a known issue and can be fixed. The banners don't load and I get
a Action Cancelled error. Reloading the page does nothing. There is
another issue with my Internet Explorer, but I'll start with these first and
see if they can be resolved before moving on to the other one. Thanks in
advance.

Regards,
Mark

I went to THAT site, and it required accepting many cookies, which I wasn't
willing to do. But I did notice that one of the cookies mentioned Java.
So, the problem could be that you don't have Java installed on your system,
which would account for the X marks, yet being able to see some images
(assuming the code for the page is OK, and the image links are correct,
which I would assume a site like Expedia would be on top of). So, if you
don't have the MS Virtual Machine (MS version of Java installed), and since
there's litigation going on between Sun Microsystems and MS, so MS can no
longer post it for download, download it at:

http://www.virtualmachine.tk/

I believe I have Java installed. I installed the Sun version and I then
turned that one off and when I went to a Java chatroom, it worked. So I
know my MS Virtual Machine is working.
True, you can download Java from Sun Microsystems, but it isn't MS Virtual
Machine Java, which MS has tweaked for its browser and operating systems.

Sounds like you you MIGHT have some form of an "Ad Aware" program running.
Even Zone Alarm has an Ad blocking function that does this. Mine does it
becase I have entered thousands of domains into my "Hosts" file which blocks
any picture originating from that domain. Expedia is pretty high on the list
for most Ad blocking software. Check out whats running on your computer that
could be blocking specific domains.
