Hello,

I recently tried to create a mail message (Outlook 2000)
that instead of using image files (.jpg) as attachements,
I put the images directly in the text.

I did this by creating a Word document, put in the images,
and then cut them from the Word docment into the email
body. They looked great!

Unfortunately, the email recipient got back to me asking
"Where are the images". Tried the same thing and sent the
email to myself. Images are not there!

What is going on here?

Thanks,

Jim K

Have you tried using the send command from the Word document? Also, please
always post your version of Outlook and the editor???

Hello Milly,

I am using Outlook 2000 Sr-1 with Word 2000.

I have tried sending directly from Word, but in this case
I had other attachments (Excel spread sheet) and a short
Word Doc, and as there is no way to include attachments
when sending from Word (as far as I know), it did it by
selecting the word doc, and copying it into the body of
the email. All of the text survives, and the pictures show
up in my email body (and the copy of the email that ends
up in the "Sent Items" folder. But the recipient does not
get the pictures. I put myself on the CC line and my copy
I got back a few minutes after sending had no images. The
other attached files (spread sheet and doc) were fine.

Try this:

1. Compose your document and save it.
2. Ensure Outlook is open.
3. Ensure Outlook is set to use RTF or HTML, not plain text.
4. In Word, use the File->Send to->Mail Recipient as Attachment command.
5. In the ensuing email, attach your additional files using the Insert
menu.

Same situation: Windows XP Pro, Outlook 2000, Editor is MSWord 2000. Since the latest update the "insert" tab on the insert menu does not have the "insert as attachment" option anymore. Seems like this is recent and consistent with Office 2000 and spread among many people. Can a fix be issued?
