Illegal Operation

I've been getting the following message...

"This program has performed an illegal operation and will
be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the
program vendor."

I've de-installed IE6. I get the same message with IE
5.5.

I trield downloading IE6 on a floppy and reinstalled. I
still get the same message.

This seems to affect not only my IE, but also My
Computer, Windows Explorer, etc.

Any suggestions?
