Illegal operation error in Explorer 6.0

Having problems keeping Explorer open and running. 9/10
times I receive the message "This program has performed an
illegal operation and must be shut down" and then "An
error has occurred in Internet Explorer. Internet
Explorer will now close. If the problem persists, you may
need to restart your computer" .

Well, I did restart my computer several times, updated
from Microsoft Update. I am completely at a loss here as
I cannot browse the internet freely and waste a lot of
time restarting my computer and Internet Explorer. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
I am having the same problem, but only when I try to get
to my hotmail.com e-mail account. Everything else works OK.
