Ok, I'll try to be clear : I'm working on an imaginary situation for a
school project : distant teaching. For that it would be good, and
simple to use Netmeeting. Teachers on the campus shouldn't be a problem
since we have XP Pro licenses.

But the question is : can the teachers legally give video conferences
via NetMeeting from home, where they often only have family edition of
XP ?

Thanx

Souns legal. Where does the question of ilegality come in ?

Netmeeting is a free program that is available for just about all the Win32 OS'.

| I didn't know if using netmeeting for a commercial use was legal

It isn't really commercial. You have indicated an educational use. Nonetheless, if both
sides have the software and both sides consent to the content then I can't see an issue.

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:
ok, thank you

In addition, it's okay (for example) to use Notepad for commercial work. I
can't think of any EULA restricting the usage of Netmeeting that I'm aware
of?

Looking here:
mk:@MSITStore:C:\WINDOWS\Help\conf.chm::/default_welcome.htm

In the readme:
C:\Program Files\NetMeeting\netmeet.htm

And in "About"

I didn't FIND anything restricting it's use for commercial or educational
reasons. Much as you could use, if you wanted, WMP to be a professional DJ
(okay, so that's a stretch really) you can use Netmeeting to conference.
