I had XP Pro SP1 then I upgraded to SP2 using windows update. After
installing SP2 I uninstalled IIS for some reason. Now I'm trying to reinstall
IIS but it keeps asking for Windows XP Pro SP2 CD. It won't take my original
windows xp pro sp1 CD. I'm stuck up at this point. How do I install IIS now?
I appreciate your help. Thanks

Ganesh,

When you're prompted for the SP2 CD, see if you're able to point to this location:

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles

By default it is pointing to c:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 and the dll
exists there but it is not accepting that file.
It keeps showing a prompt with the following message

"Setup cannot copy the file staxmem.dll
Ensure that the location below is correct, or change it and insert 'Windows
XP Professional Service Pack 2 CD' in the drive you specify."

It happens for all the files if I ignore the error

Here is some insight about the problem. By Rick Ahlander

I tried both the Solutions mentioned on the link but still I'm getting the
same prompt repeatedly

No further ideas, Ganesh. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Ramesh, that's okay. I didn't find a solution yet but I restored the
system to some prior date and got the iis back. However I'm unable to run asp
pages. I have some more issues also. I think I'll work on all of these later.
Thanks for your time. I greatly appreciate your help
