Regularly when I connect to the internet my zone alarm
asks me whether to allow an exe file to access the
internet.

The exe files all start with iic and end with .exe but
the have different middles so I am suspicious of the
files. For example today I have been asked to allow
iicBA.exe, iicBE.exe at various times.

Following a search I have also found IICBA.EXE-
10C9F9DD.pf in C:/WINDOWS/prefetch folder

I have moved all three files to a separate folder to
isolate them but immediately on connecting to the
internet using IE6 another iic.exe file appears. On this
occasion it is iic140.exe together with IIC140.EXE-
28312B2F.pf appearing in the C:/WINDOWS/prefetch folder.
Norton anti virus does not find them suspicious.

Does anyone know what the exe file is and if and how I
should get rid of it.

Hello Aidan,

Can you check the properties on the file, go to the Version tab and let me
know what it says for version information list? I cannot find any
reference to these files internally at Microsoft or via Google.com.

Best regards,
