Go to an Outlook Express Group? Right!
I tell them that I have corruption in a dbx file; they're going to tell me
that is a filesystem/windowsxp problem and send me WHERE?
Right BACK here!
I had NO corrupt files in Windows for Workgroups 3.11 nor Windows 95. A few
every three (3) or four (4) months in Windows 98SE. Windows XP--- every dam
day . . regardless of the filesystem.
Control Panel / Add Remove Programs / Windows Components / Outlook Express
also has NOT solved the problem ( I assume it "repaired" when I clicked it).
XPSP2, installed 08/14/2004, brought no resolution - it also did not bring
any problems . . . as reported in the media.
Tonight I decided to open OE6, empty the Inbox AND Deleted Items. inbox.dbx
should have reported 139 KB for size after this was done. It reported 8,343
KB. I shut down re-booted and checked again - still reporting 8,343 KB.
Opened OE6 and Inbox=empty.
I did attempt to help myself before sending the original post on 08/17/2004
11:49 AM therefore if you feel the need to flame me: proceed.
