Hi folks,

The IF function on my PC is playing up. Trying to enter a
function in a new workbook produces continuous error
messages because the software does not insert the commas
into the line: eg. =IF(B1>5 "yes" "no") and any attempt on
my part to rectify this prove fruitless. This has affected
all existing files as well. Any ideas as to what might be
causing this ?

Do you have something in autocorrect that converts the comma to space?

In Windows' Control Panel, Regional Settings, check what the list separator
character is. (In Windows XP, I have to click on the Customize button to get
to this screen.) If it's a space, change it to a comma.

I just now changed it to a space, and all of the commas in my existing XL
worksheet formulas changed to spaces. Sounds like your problem...
