In the processes list of task manager, it seems that my
computer keeps opening new iexplore.exe tasks, even when
my computer is idle. I have had it run about 20
iexplore.exe processes at a time and it is really
dragging my computer down. Before you assume you know
the reason that this is happening, I have to tell the
strangest part of this: This all occurs when my internet
explorer is not even running.

You seem to have unwittingly invited adware or spyware onto your computer.
Now you must install one of the many adware/spyware removers available on
the Internet. Here are three popular choices (alphabetically):

Ad-aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Pest Patrol: http://www.pestpatrol.com/
Spybot S&D: http://www.safer-networking.org/

Many adware and spyware programs are specifically designed to be difficult
to remove, and some may be impossible to remove without damaging your
system.

Thanks for the superfast response! I have adware6 and
spybot, but both have not helped. I guess i could try
pest control. Is it possible that one of these programs
will release an update that will sucessfully clean my
computer?

Before you use these programs, you should always check for updates. You do
this from within the program itself. You also should check for viruses
(using the most recently updated virus signatures).

there is a really cool adware/spyware/virus blocker on the internet
now.....its called Spy Bot S&D, whomever invented this software is
truely a lifesaver. it hasn't quite fixed my problem, but it will take
and block and stop viruses for damaging you computer and other
components for getting damaged, and plus there is updates every month
with Spybot search& destroy. and even better its free.

Jason:

Spybot - Search and Destroy does not detect or remove viruses.
