Iexplore stops responding when closed

[Chilli]

When I close internet explorer browser and go to close
programs (ctrl+alt+del)Iexplore appears and after a short
time stops responding. I have IE 6.0.2800.1106IS and
Windows ME

Help would be greatfully received

If you close all IE windows with the X in the upper right corner and still
have a process going for iexplorer then check for parasites.
