IE 8 is still under development. If your computer has Vista you are using
IE 7. To check the version click Help in the menu bar and then Click the
about item. If you don't see the menu bar go to tools and check the menu bar
option.

If you are not liking IE you can check out Opera or Firefox web browsers.

You have IE7. IE8 hasn't been released yet.

But in IE, and in almost any program, click Help | About to find out
what version it is.

Hmmm. I have IE8 on all my XP machines, 32 and 64-bit. Works okay and the
emulate IE7 mode fills in the problem areas well, so far. :-)

No you don't. You have a pre-release test version of IE8. It is not
IE8, which, as I said, hasn't been released yet.

way to get IE8 back or is it possiable to Try Firefox and go back to IE7-8

Sorry, but IE8 is IE8 whether it is beta, RC or RTM. Don't recall anyone
saying anything about 'RTM' version. Microsoft has been pushing the beta in
lots of places.

Ken just a short nte to thank you for going that extra mile with allmost all
help and about to tell me about the program--infomation as that is priceless
THANKS Linda

Then you and I have very different definitions. I don't agree at all.

You're welcome, Linda, and thank *you* for the very kind words.

Firefox is an alternative browser. Some people like it better than IE,
others don't. I've tried Firefox, and am not crazy about it at all.

My personal preference is IE7 with the Maxthon shell running on top of
it. If you'd like to try it, it's free from http://www.maxthon.com/

If you use Firefox, Maxthon, or any other browser, it doesn't replace
IE. There's no need to go "back" to IE, since it will have been there
all along. You can run either whenever you want, and even run two
browsers simultaneously.
