Hi All,

The problem i have is that my browser does not seem to update pages. i have
gone into Tools --> internet options --> Deleted cookies, offline content,
gone into settings... and the option "Check for new versions of stored
pages:" and the radio button ticked is Every visit to the page. Nothing seems
to do the trick.

Please can someone help as this is causing me a lot of grief.

Kind Regards.

Hi

Have you tried the IE News Group:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.browser
or
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

A Google copy & paste?
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.browser
should be:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.browser
(I have never understood why Google Groups does that)

....Alan

Thanks Alan - I thought I had taken the extra character out.

FWIW, no extra character is shown by my newsreader in either yours or Edwards'
response...unless I just missed it.

I'm running Win2K Pro SP4 with IE 6 SP1
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1506

Hi

If you copy/paste the URL from my first posting into your browser, you
should see an extra character towards the end, a '-'.

Yes, I see that now. The last word in the URL shows up as "brows-er" in IE's
address field.

This discrepancy also shows up when the link is pasted to a text file, but when
composing a message in OE 6, the pasted link appears correct in the message
body.

After the message is sent, the extra character is visible in the Status Bar when
you hover over link with the mouse.

Very strange.

Thanks for the response and clarification.
