I am using IE6 and have recently come across a problem
trying to type in the address bar and most text boxes on
certain sites. Another problem that occurs at the same
time of the typing problems is that IE will not close
unless i use Task Manager. Also i get a constant error
message.

Also i get a constant error message which i can send or
not send.

The typing problem is that i cannot actually type into the
address bar or any text boxes on specified web pages e.g
google.com . It is not always regular but sometimes
occurs. If you can help then Thanx.

See if this fix, recently posted by MVP Jim Byrd, works for you:

In IE6 - Tools|Internet Options, click
Accessibility, then un-check "Format documents . . ." and OK out.
Close all instances of IE, then restart and see if you still have the
problem. If it was already unchecked, then check it, OK out, click
Accessibility again, and un-check it, and OK out, then restart IE.

As i do this i need to browse for a style sheet to be able
to apply the settings. If possible please send answers to
my email as it will speed up the receiving time. If not
thanx any way.

I am having the exact same problem as this. I am using ie6
with XPhome. If you find a fix, please pass it along.
Thank you, Kevin Hyre.

If you are having the same problems and do not get a reply
soon you may like to download phaseout. It is a user
freindly browsing program that has no time or usage
limits. This is recommended by me as it contains a popup
disabler and many other good features. It has all of the
essentials iexplorer has plus some extra fun ones aswell.
You can download it from a virus free website.
Download.com. This link will automatically start the
download. Sorry it is long.

I have just put up a post for a good alternative for this
problem. But i do not have a solution. Sorry.

And exactly what is the typing problem?

I am having the same problem. Everytime I go to a site and
try to type anything in, I am not able to. I cannot check
my mail from the web because I am not able to type in my
e-mail and password.
