Something has invaded my XP..

1. IE keeps resetting Homepage to the default homepage, which was mysteriously set to a strange URL
2. I cannot resinstall IE with IE6SP1, the Setup says there's already a newer version installed even after I unstalled IE
3. I cannot restore the system to a earlier checkpoint, clicking on a selected checkpoint the system would do nothing
4. These symptons appear only impact one user

Any idea?

Thanks for the tips...I'm back in business

Regedit did not fix the problem nor did a clean boot. But the latter did allow me to restore a working checkpoint, which in turn enabled me to download SpywareBlaster. Think I am now well protected against those known creatures

Again thanks for the help.
