I am running XP on my laptop and using ie6 as my
browser. Something has happend so that ie6 does not
display web pages correctly. There are no background
colors and the fonts are too large and not placed
properly. Sometimes text overlaps. I am baffeled as to
what to do. Help!!!

Hello, I am having the same problem, also I just get the
x in the boxes where the webpages should display pictures
and links to other pages, I cannot get to pages that
links should be going to either. I have searched the
microsoft website for three hours now and cannot get any
help....PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!! arrrgh

pictures seem to be loading for me, but backgrounds are
not. all the pages have white backgrounds.

If you find a solution, please post it here. There are
several posters, myself included, looking for the answer
to this and what appeared on my machine at the same time
a "font size" issue. I cannot get html code to change
font size, color, or background color. Menus also have
transparent backgrounds making them unreadable.

You might check menu Tools> Internet Options> General
Tab "Accessibility" button> and see if any of the boxes
are checked. This did not fix my issue, but could be
part of yours.

good luck,
bob

Here are some ideas:

Try checking your Display properties and changing your
colors for the desktop or preferably using the default
windows scheme to see if that helps.

Try going into IE Tools> Internet Options> General Tab>
Accessibility button> and try ignoring fonts and colors
to see if there is any change. Also try the same General
Tab but the Colors button and try changing the Use
Windows Colors checkbox's current state (select or
unselect it).

Check Start> Control Panel> Accessibility options> High
Contrast check box. This can get turned on by a
keystroke combination by mistake. Happened to me
recently.
