WHen I close the IE (6) browser I get an error message in
kernel32.dll code oxcoooooo5. If I don't clear the check
box for restart IE the system hangs with this error
message displayed. If I clear the check box and select
Don't Send IE will close. Happens on every close of
IE6. Checked for virus and found none. ANy help
diagnosing or fixing would be appreciated.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Thanks. Ran Adaware and Spybot and let both "fix"
problems. Seems to have cleared up the issue. Found
something called "Wild Tangent". It left a control panel
entry for this. Add/Remove program list also includes
something called Locked Programs. What's that??

I don't remember what program installs Wild Tangent, maybe AIM?
I don't know what Locked Programs is.
